FLUXYS (Belgium) has agreed on the alliance with ENAGAS (Spain) regarding the participation in the acquisition of a 17% stake from 66% shares package in Greece’s DESFA, for which the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) subscribed. The Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF) reports that it has received a formal proposal from the Alliance. Previously, Italian company Snam had applied with a proposal to buy a 17% stake in DESFA. The Greek media write that within the framework of the alliance the Belgian company, which already has technical cooperation with DESFA, shows an interest to 8% and ENAGAS to 9% of shares. Reps of the two companies will receive at the Ministry of Energy of Greece at the this week. FLUXYS and ENAGAS are participants of pipeline consortium Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) with a share of 19% and 16% respectively. Snam claims for a 20% Statoil’s share in TAP. The Greek media have reported today that at a meeting of the EU Council of Energy Ministers in Brussels Panos Skourletis, the Energy Minister of Greece, will most likely discuss this week with the European Commission the question of the completion of the DESFA privatization.
