SOCAR posts decline in July oil export

The SOCAR Marketing & Economic Operations Department announced that Azerbaijani oil export declined by 56.32% in July against June 2015.

SOCAR reports that it exported 1.448 million tons of oil in July against 2.264 million tons in June (the best index for 2015), 1.69 million tons of oil in May and 2.121 million tons in January. In July the oil export via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline was resumed at the level of 167,711 tons (the peak was observed in May - 169,559 tons), while in June it was not carried out at all, reports.

At that, oil export via Baku-Supsa reached 84,736 tons and via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) n.a. Heydar Aliyev oil pipeline 1.196 million tons.

"The oil export in 2015 makes up 12.855 million tons. This year it has been delivered 845,757 tons to Novorossiysk, 1.609 million tons to Supsa, and 10.4 million tons to Ceyhan, SOCAR reported

In 2014, 24.372 million tons was exported, including 932,155 tons via Baku-Novorossiysk, 2.957 million tons via Baku-Supsa and 20.483 million tons via BTC. 2.448 million tons of oil was exported in December 2014 (the best index for the last year). In Q4 export made 5.691 million tons against 6.406 million tons in Q3, 6.518 million in Q2 and 4.768 million tons in Q1, 2014.

In 2013 the export reached 24.225 million tons of oil, including 1.751 million tons via Baku-Novorossiysk, 2.725 million tons via Baku-Supsa and 19.748 million tons via BTC. The peak of export was recorded in February (2.31 million tons).

Over 2012 25.006 million tons of oil was exported, including 2.06 million tons via Baku-Novorossiysk, 2.7 million tons via Baku-Supsa and 20.199 million tons via BTC. The peak of export was recorded in July (2.361 million tons).

In 2011, export reached 27.609 million tons, including 2.57 million tons in June (the years month peak). In 2011 oil transportation via pipeline Baku-Novorossiysk totaled 1.988 million tons, Baku-Novorossiysk 2.65 million tons, and BTC 22.969 million tons.

In 2015 oil was not exported via Baku-Batumi railway by MEOD as well as in 2009-2014.

SOCAR notes that the MEOD exports both its own oil and oil falling on the share of the government within PSA contracts.
