Azerbaijan can partake in construction of small oil processing enterprises in Afghanistan

Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu APA-Economics. Today, within the visit to Baku, Afghan delegation led by Minister of Mines and Petroleum Wahidullah Shahrani held a meeting with Azerbaijans Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev.

First, Aliyev informed the guest about the country's oil strategy, international projects, and the development prospects and work done so far. The minister spoke about economic and political relations between Azerbaijan and Afghanistan and said that he was interested in construction of small oil processing enterprises in both countries.

Afghanistan restores its economy and Azerbaijan is interested in cooperation with Afghanistan in this sphere, Aliyev noted.

Aliyev said over 50 state programs are being fulfilled in Azerbaijan and all these programs were contributed by the Industry and Energy Ministry.

Head of investment department of the ministry Ramiz Rzayev noted that today, Azerbaijan has 2.4 trillion. cubic meters of gas and 2 bn oil reserves: 44 bcm of gas was extracted from Shah deniz field, so far. Moreover, diversification of export pipelines are beign continued.

To him, SOCAR has opened representaions in 11 coutnries. It has 22 electric stations in Azerbaijan and our country has become a state with a capacity to export electricity.

The minister noted that the climatic conditions of Azerbaijan allows the use both sun, wind and river water power. 14 small hydro-electric power stations are built in the field of renewable energy. 3 wind power plants have already been set to operation: "Of course, all of these achievements were realized at the cost of great investments worth $128 billion

In turn, Afghan minister expressed satisfaction about Baku visit and noted that today he would hold meetings with Azerbaijani officials, as well at SOCAR.
