The Caspian Oil and Gas Conference opened today
On 4th June at the JW Marriott Absheron Baku the opening of the 21st International Caspian Oil and Gas Conference took place. This annual conference was attended by over 500 delegates from more than 30 countries. The conference programme was included presentations from more than 50 representatives of government agencies, major oil and gas industry experts, and the CEOs of major oil and gas companies from around the world.
The plenary session was attended by Minister for Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Natig Aliyev; Minister for Energy of Lithuania Jaroslav Neverovic; Rovnag Abdullayev, President of SOCAR; the UK’s Prime Ministerial Trade Envoy Charles Hendry; Deputy Minister for Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Kilchi Mitin; and Senior Advisor, Office of the Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy, U.S. Department of State, Daniel Stein.
The second session of the conference was devoted the anniversary of the Contract of the Century. The conference will also cover the topics of ‘Diversification of oil and gas from the Caspian region’ and ‘Formation of gas prices and long-term contracts: Ensuring the sustainable development of major oil and gas projects’.
Presentations were also made by the Director-General of the Department of Europe, America and the Caspian Countries of the Ministry of Petroleum of the Islamic Republic of Iran Husseyn Esmaeili Shahmirzade; Lachezar Matev, Special Envoy for Energy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria; and Senior Advisor, Office of Energy Resources, US Department of State, Daniel Stein.
